Apply to Sell at Robin Hood's Faire

Thank you for your interest in becoming a merchant at Robin Hood’s Faire. Our annual outdoor event is an enchanted recreation of a medieval spring faire as one might have been long ago. We are currently looking for artisans, crafters, and merchants to display and sell their unique handcrafted wares at our event.

If you’ve sold your product at craft fairs for years, you’ll be pleased with your results selling at a themed event. If you’re not sure what to expect, contact us. We’re happy to guide you and make your experience with us a positive one. After your first season, you’ll wish you’d joined us sooner!

General requirements to participate:

  • Merchandise: We are looking for mostly handcrafted products that fit the show’s medieval theme. Some resell items are acceptable. Reach out to us with photos of your work if you have questions. We are not looking for windows, siding, solar, or anything else that doesn’t fit our show’s theme.
  • Period Booth: While it is preferred merchants will have a period tent or cart representing the medieval period, we make exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us for information.
  • Costumes: All merchants and their employees/volunteers must wear costuming appropriate for the medieval period. Halloween costumes are not proper attire. We can make recommendations on where to get costuming should you require it.

The experienced team that has successfully owned and operated the Connecticut Renaissance Faire for more than 20 years has been running Robin Hood’s Faire for more than 10. The Connecticut Renaissance Faire is the second largest Renaissance Faire in New England followed by Robin Hood’s Faire in third.

Our merchant application PDF contains current fees and sets expectations. Apply now as there is no application fee. We begin selecting merchants in early January. Sign up today.

Our location on the Harwinton Fairgrounds puts us west of the Connecticut River in between Hartford and Litchfield. Traditionally our event grows in attendance by 10%-15% annually.

With more than 20 years of experience, we know how to reach the right audience. Our marketing budget not only touches traditional marketing venues but also new trends.

We welcome all well behaved dogs the following rules are mandatory:

  • Intact dogs in heat are not permitted.
  • Dogs must be leashed at all times. 6 foot maximum non-retractable leash.
  • All dogs must have proof of age-appropriate vaccinations. NOTE: Many puppies are not yet old enough to have their rabies vaccination. It is the owner’s responsibility to assess the risk of bringing young puppies to an outdoor event. We will not be held responsible for any illness a puppy may contract due to their age.
  •  Dogs must be on short leashes no longer than 6 feet.

  • Warning: For people with small pets (snakes, mice, rats, ferrets, kittens, rabbits), please be advised we have a live-flight bird of prey show. Entering the Faire with a small pet means you understand and accept this risk.
  • Friendly Pets Only: Public-friendly pets are welcome at the Faire on all event days. If your pet is not properly socialized, you should leave it at home.
  • Leashes: Pets must be leashed.
  • Clean Up: Guests are expected to clean up and maintain control of their pets.

Parents or guardians of a child grant the Faire permission to use their photograph in our collateral materials.

  • Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Guests are welcome to wear family-friendly costuming to get into the fun. Costuming doesn’t have to be “Renaissance” as we’re a fantasy-based event. Come as you are or as you wish to be… Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Superheros, Villains, Stormtroopers, etc.
  • Costume Weapons: Costume weapons (swords, for example) must be peace-tied at the gate.
