Audition for the Show

FOR ACTORS

VARIETY PERFORMERS

The Crown Players are a regional theatre troupe based out of Connecticut. Our performers come from around New England with one thing in common: They share a passion for creativity and the performing arts. Together, we create a community theatre that enchants thousands of guests each year.

Crown Players receive professional theatrical training in various stage arts. You will have instruction in Improvisation, Period Movement, Language, Dialects and other disciplines depending on the role.

ABOUT OUR PERFORMANCES

The Crown Players are a lot like a “Shakespeare in the Park” event with performances on and off stage. On stage, we perform a scripted, multi-act play with a seated audience. When we step off stage, we engage our audience in the streets as our characters. Here we have one-on-one experiences with festival patrons. We breathe life into the village with highly-memorable techniques learned in our training.

It is more than actors alone that make up our group. We transcend traditional theatre with a brilliant combination of creative talent. This can include singers, musicians, belly dancers, jugglers, stilt walkers, and much more.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve acted for years or you’ve never done anything like this before. If you like acting, you’re going to love performing at the Faire. This is your chance to make history with us. Along the way, you’ll learn invaluable acting skills in a community of like minds.

Robin Hood’s Faire is looking for unique variety acts such as jugglers, magicians, musicians, stilt walkers, bubble makers, etc., to breathe life into the streets of our village. Variety artists will demonstrate their skills as they would be at the show for up to two minutes.

Variety performers that are part of a troupe or established act may choose to audition by submitting a video. Performers may be bands, fight troupes, comedy acts, or others that fit the show’s theme.
